CONSMEMA, since 1924
CONSMEMA B.V. was founded in 1924 in Hattem by Mr. Van Veen senior. Initially he worked as a blacksmith for the local market, but in the 60s and 70s CONSMEMA developed into a welding firm with activities that include repair work on dredgers on the river IJssel and steel structures for industrial buildings. In the mid 70s a new hall was realized in the industrial estate where we still are, and in the following years the number of customers (in various sectors) increased as well as our machinery. CONSMEMA then started with the supply of components for the machine and equipment industry, concrete moulds for the precast concrete industry, stages for the NOB network service and several other custom-made projects. The 90s prove to be very successful for CONSMEMA. In this heyday with customers such as Scania and Wartsila CONSMEMA has 45 employees and the company invests considerably in their means of production.
As there were no successors within the Van Veen family, the current owner Johan Kooij took over CONSMEMA in 2005. During the first years after the acquisition, the focus is on increasing sales, professionalization of the organization and replacement of obsolete machinery. In 2006 CONSMEMA introduces a new project administration system and this is followed by various certifications: ISO 9001 (2009) and ISO 3834 (2014). In 2012 CONSMEMA takes over the firm ROTHI in Heerde, a supplier of machining technology. At the end of 2015 KTB MACHINERY is set up to give a boost to the delivery of turnkey projects in mechanical engineering. The added value of KTB MACHINERY is the knowledge and expertise of fully automated production lines, including controllers. Because of their pragmatic approach, out of the box solutions and project management KTB MACHINERY perfectly complements CONSMEMA and ROTHI.The article “A smithy in Hattem” has more information about the history of our company.
In July 2017 CONSMEMA and KTB moved to our new and bigger location in Hattemerbroek. Our sister company Rothi will follow in October. From that moment on, our three companies will work together under one roof with a bigger production room.
